about

Nathan J. DiPerri is an illustrator, cartoonist, and playwright who specializes in charming and whimsical entertainment for all ages. Using traditional drawing and painting media on paper, he cuts out the pieces and assembles his compositions in layers with tape. Nathan strives to package realism and whimsy in fresh images that are at once striking and charming. His work has appeared in magazines such as Cruising World, The Spectator, Literary Review, Funny Times, Kappan, and Weekly Humorist.

He has published five book compilations of his newspaper comic strips — My Guardian Grandpa and Mates and Dates/Buddy and Romeo — which were published daily from 2011 to 2018. He has written six stage plays; the first of those plays, Miss Wallace Rhymes With William, is published by Heartland Plays, Inc.

Nathan and his wife Julie produce single panel cartoons under the moniker “Frega + DiPerri” and their work has been published in magazines across the globe. They are the co-creators of Coffee Lovers’ Christmas, a beloved greeting card and print product line that they dreamed up in 2012 and began selling in 2019.

In his spare time, Nathan enjoys drinking coffee; coaching soccer; 5 am workouts; using/maintaining his typewriter collection; and wearing cardigans.
